Do not want 'three divorces', 10 lakhs Muslims sign autographs

New Delhi: The war against the three divorces and marriage of Halah is going on increasing day by day. Meanwhile, about 10 lakh Muslims across the country, including a large number of women, have signed a petition to end the three divorced practices. This petition has been started by the Muslim National Forum (MRM), a organization affiliated to the RSS.

'Nahod Halala' means that a person can not remarry from any woman after three divorces unless he establishes his marriage relationship with any other person and his new husband does not die or he Do not divorce.

According to reports of CNN, this petition received a lot of support, the reason being that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got a huge majority in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. In the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won an unexpected victory and captured 312 out of 403 seats. This is the first time since 1980 that a party has managed more than 300 seats in the state assembly elections.
According to the recent census, the population of the country's largest state of Uttar Pradesh is around 20 million, in which about 18.5 percent of the population belongs to Muslims. Three issues of divorce are still pending in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile some women have filed a petition in this regard.

In the Supreme Court, the central government had told the opposition against the three divorces, against its constitution. The Center had said that it creates the perception of injustice and discrimination against women. Although the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, advocating for three divorces in the apex court, had said that it is better to divorce her than to kill a woman. The Muslim institution said, "The court law can not question the rules of religion."

In the past year (2016), Prime Minister Narendra Modi also opposed the three divorces and advocated to end it. He said, "The right to live Muslim women can not be wasted through three divorces." At the same time, Modi had criticized the opposition for giving political color to this issue and using it for votebank.
The five-member Constitution bench of the Supreme Court will decide on the plea filed by the petition on the practice of 'Three Divorce', 'Nodh Halala' and 'Polygamy' prevailing in Muslim society. A three-member bench of Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Kher, Justice NV Raman and Justice Dhananjay Y Chandrachud took the three types of issues prepared by the respective parties on the record and said that on the question of the Constitution Bench on March 30, Will be decided.

The bench said, "These issues are very important. These issues can not be avoided. "Referring to the legal issues raised by the Center, the bench said that they are all related to constitutional issues and the Constitution bench should hear them.
